Your initial visit for cosmetic dental treatment is important. Dr. Moeckel schedules ample time to get to know your concerns and your expectations. Allot 1 to 1 1/2 hours for this visit.
Examination
During your introductory appointment, a comprehensive examination will take place. Dr. Moeckel will evaluate your teeth and periodontal health, and also perform a TMJ and muscle evaluation. If a dental condition exists, Dr. Moeckel will discuss treatment options to precede cosmetic dental care.
Periodontal Charting
Gum health is monitored using periodontal charting, a diagnostic method that allows us to ascertain the need for professional treatment or home care to improve or manage gum health.
Imaging
If you have recent x-rays, we will contact your previous dentist, with your permission, to obtain copies of them. Otherwise, we will take complete x-rays in our office. A full series of photos will also be taken, as recommended by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
